Starting with 3D Sprint 2025, the software versioning scheme is now based on the year and quarter of release. This change improves clarity, ensures consistency, and reflects the ongoing evolution and progress of the software.
Please note that printers must be running the latest printer firmware update to be able to submit print jobs with 3D Sprint 5.4. For the latest firmware version please consult the 3D Sprint - Minimum Firmware Guide found at on the 3D Sprint Download page.
Microsoft Windows 10 Operating System is recommended. Windows 7 and Windows 8.0 are not supported by 3D Sprint 4.0 version. If you are using Windows 7, please do not upgrade to 3D Sprint 4.0 or newer. If you are using Windows 8.0, please update it to Windows 8.1 in order to run 3D Sprint 4.0 or newer.

The New Home Tab
The updated Home Tab includes the following features:
Recent Files: Displays a thumbnail view of your recently accessed 3D print files.
What’s New in 3D Sprint™: Keeps you informed about the latest features and updates in new 3D Sprint versions.
Product and Support: Provides easy access to information about 3D Sprint, 3D Printing, and Materials.
Theming
3D Sprint now includes both Light and Dark themes for the user interface. You can switch between themes in the Preferences dialog under General Settings.
The New Notification Center
The Notification Center, accessed via the envelope icon on the title bar, alerts you to important updates with a red dot for unread notifications.
Notifications are triggered by the following events:
Low disk space on the hard drive where application data is stored (typically the C: drive).
Availability of a new version of 3D Sprint.
Full printer queue when sending a job to a Figure 4 printer.
Expiration of 3D Sprint maintenance or a Pro Subscription.
Availability of a new NMI material data patch.
Key Improvements
New Auto-Save Feature and General Enhancements to Saving
Saves are now faster. You can set custom save intervals, choose a backup location, and toggle auto-save on or off in Preferences.
Additionally, you can now use the Ctrl+S hot key from the Queue Tab to save your project.
Snap Clipping Plane to Part Plane
The View menu now includes the ability to align clipping planes with a selected face on a 3D model.
New Reset and Commit Transform Options
Reset - Allows you restore a part’s transformation directly from the context menu without running the Transform command.
Commit - Updates the part’s geometry while resetting the transformation to identity, preserving its position and all auxiliary meshes. These options improve control for advanced part replacement workflows.
UI/UX Improvements
Renaming Parts - You can now rename parts directly in the Model Manager by double-clicking on them.
Optimized Properties - The Properties panel has been reorganized and consolidated to improve readability and usability.
Added Information in Properties - The number of custom views is now displayed in the Properties panel.
