Please note that printers must be running the latest printer firmware update to be able to submit print jobs with 3D Sprint 4.2. For the latest firmware version please consult the 3D Sprint - Minimum Firmware Guide found at on the 3D Sprint Download page.
Microsoft Windows 10 Operating System is recommended. Windows 7 and Windows 8.0 are not supported by 3D Sprint 4.0 version. If you are using Windows 7, please do not upgrade to 3D Sprint 4.0 or newer. If you are using Windows 8.0, please update it to Windows 8.1 in order to run 3D Sprint 4.0 or newer.
Release Date: February, 2023
Key Improvements
Clipping View Enhancements
Added new ways to place a clipping View plane precisely and use it for various purposes. The new options enable you to set up a clipping View and enrich your report contents.
Custom Views
Added new view controls so that you can save and share custom views with co-workers for easier communication.
File I/O Improvements
The following improvements were made to File I/O.
Recent Files
The Recent Files tool has been added to the File menu to help you open your recently used files quickly and easily.
Drag & Drop File Folder
You can also drag and drop folders into the application to import viable part file formats at once.
Improvements to Measure Tool
The following improvements were made to the Measure tool.
Angle
Measuring the angle between a line and a plane is now available with the Angle tool.
Diameter
Added the new Diameter tool. This tool allows measuring the diameter of a circular feature by selecting a circle or arc, or 3 points.
Import / Export Transforms
Added new ways to reuse the transformation of parts easily by exporting and importing the transformation matrix directly from the Parts List. The Transformation Matrix is exported as an XML file and can be reused for iterative design workflows.
Improvements to Add Noise Tool
More variety of noise texture types have been added.
The newly added "Displace By Color" and "Smooth" options add tactile appeal and hide surface defects from parts.
Viewer Mode
A new viewer mode is introduced with a limited option set to support viewing input parts and manipulating print jobs in the Print Queue.
Key Improvements
Recoat Template
Added new Import and Export options, allowing to export recoat styles as an XML file and reused it to reduce error in repetitious recoat range setup per build.
Improvements to Smart Support
The following improvements have been made to the Smart Support to improve the quality of the support structure and to increase the build success rate.
Exclude Gap Clearance
Added a new Exclude Gap Clearance parameter in the Analyze tab to remove anchors in conformal cooling channels and other small features.
Active Slope Control
Added the new Active Slope Control option in the Generate tab to create less cantilevered support over regions of an up-facing slope. It’s advantageous for the part-part support connections on the slope.
Trailing Edge Reinforcement
Added the new Trailing Edge Reinforcement option in the Analyze tab to identify the geometry of trailing or leading edges and create anchor rows and spacing on the detected regions.
QC Vent/Drains
Algorithmically improved to prevent anchors from being placed in regions where QC vents/drains are overlapped.
The new Avoid Vents and Max. Drain Diameter options in the Analyze tab allow you to avoid vents and specify a maximum diameter drain threshold.
Anchor Clearance Control
The new Anchor Clearance option allows you to manage of top connection length with more user-friendly distance control. The Anchor Clearance control is formulated from half grid parameter set, roughly 5 lower-level parameters.
Preserve Struts
Algorithmic improvements have been made to minimize time lost recreating the struts each time when support regeneration is triggered. The strut dependency framework has been improved to result in less strut disposals.
Adjust Bottom Connections to Normal
Algorithmic improvements have been made to allow the bottom connection tip to be adjusted in the normal direction of the local mesh.
Gusset Robustness
Addressed reported issues and improved support generation algorithms to enhance the robustness of the gusset.
Protect anchor editing
Added local undo/redo available when editing anchor points. You can press the Ctrl + Z or Ctrl + Y to undo or redo the edits.
The newly added intercepted message now allows you to protect unsaved anchor point edits when exiting the command.
Strong Empire Supports
The new Strong support workflow is introduced that allows you to set the locations of anchors for closed volume supports called "Strong" inside the standard Empire support through support editing.
Import / Merge Supports
You can now import and merge supports to the current support mesh. When importing supports, 3D Sprint provides you the following option to select to merge the supports into the current support mesh.
Sampling for Build File Import
The “Slice Outline Sampling Rate” and “Slice Fill/Hatch Sampling Rate” options are now available for the SLA printers.
Key New Features
New ProJet MJP 2500W Plus Printer Support
