SLA Build Styles

Build Styles are parameter groups that control the slicing 3D Sprints software does to your parts for a combination of Printer mode and materials. For some combination of printing mode, materials or part geometries, 3D Sprint offers several specialized Build Styles for selection as described below.

Trapped Volume

This build style is used for printing parts that contain a trapped dimension within the part greater than 0.2 inch / 5mm in Z depth. If volume is parallel to the blade and thinner than the blade thickness (1/4 inch), Trapped Volume style is not required. Some materials that recoat easily, so specialized styles are not required. Only materials that require this style will show it in the style selection.

Bubble Breaking

The Bubble Breaking style Is not geometry dependent but is used to reduce bubbles that may form in the finished product. Using this style may be up to 3 times slower when printing, however it gives a higher quality finished product.

Large Flat

This build style is used with some materials for printing parts with a critical circle in the solid area of the part greater than 2 inches in diameter. Not all materials require this style and only those that require it will show it in the style selection. For a description and more information on critical circle please see here: Critical Circle
